Up to 7 weeks of pregnancy (i.e. 9 weeks after the 1st day of the last menstrual period), medical abortion is possible. This non-invasive method involves taking 2 hormonal drugs 48 hours apart. Medication abortion is available at the Planning Familial. This type of abortion is not necessarily performed by a gynecologist. General practitioners are also entitled to do so, provided they have an agreement with a hospital that has a gynecology-obstetrics department that handles emergencies.
