The acronym LGBTQIA+ is a generic term that includes all people who are not heteronormative and/or non-heterosexual and/or non-gender. The acronym stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans (transgender), queer, inter (intersex), asexual (and pansexual if a “P” is added). The + sign, sometimes replaced by an asterisk, represents all sexual orientations or gender identities not explicitly mentioned in the acronym, such as demisexual, aromantic, agender, etc.
