According to the WHO, “Sexual health is a state of physical, emotional, mental and social well-being associated with sexuality. It is not merely the absence of disease, dysfunction or disability. Sexual health requires a positive and respectful approach to sexuality and sexual relationships, and the possibility of having sexual experiences that bring pleasure in complete safety and without constraint, discrimination or violence. In order to achieve and maintain sexual health, the sexual rights of all people must be respected, protected and ensured. Sexuality is a central aspect of the human person throughout life and includes biological sex, gender identity and role, sexual orientation, eroticism, pleasure, intimacy and reproduction.”
