Feminism

Planning Familial is a feminist association.

It defines feminism as a political, philosophical and social attitude based on the equality of the sexes (equality between men and women in mentality and in fact), with the aim of defending women’s interests in society, improving and extending their rights in order to equalize their status with that of men, putting an end to the oppression and discrimination to which women are subjected on a daily basis, and empowering them to regain control of their lives.

Over the decades, feminism has evolved in several waves, each with its own specific issues. Feminism has contributed to the achievement of fundamental rights for women, such as the right to vote, access to education and employment, as well as the right to control their own bodies and make autonomous reproductive choices.
