🔎 Definition:

Nerve endings

Nerve endings are nerve endings located on the skin, but also on organs and muscles. Their role is to register different sensations: hot, cold, pain… So when these nerve endings pick up a message, they transmit it to the brain. Some areas of the body contain more nerve endings, making them more sensitive. The glans of the penis and the clitoris, for example, are areas with many nerve endings, which is why they are so sensitive, sometimes resulting in a sensation of physiological pleasure that can lead to orgasm.
